
Beth Schroeder is a Partner and General Counsel of Silver & Freedman. She represents employers in all aspects of employment and labor law; including the defense of employment related lawsuits involving wrongful termination, harassment, discrimination, wage and hour issues and related claims. Beth’s practice also includes conducting employee training classes, drafting employee handbooks and other personnel forms and documentation, preparing employment-related agreements and auditing wage and hour compliance. In addition to these services, Beth provides extensive day-to-day counseling to help employers in the prevention of employment-related claims. She also works closely with many Employment Practices Liability carriers and administers several risk management programs. She is also the Chair of the firm’s Hospitality Practice Group.
Beth graduated with distinction and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1981, where she majored in Psychology. In 1985, she received her Juris Doctorate from the University of California at Los Angeles School of Law.
Beth regularly speaks at conventions, conferences and seminars across the country, and internationally, such as PIHRA (Professionals In Human Resources Association), PLUS (Professional Liability Underwriters Society), PIA (Printing Industries Association), and CRA (California Restaurant Association), on topics of wage and hour, sexual harassment, preventing wrongful discharge, personnel policies, EPL Insurance, and other employment law matters. Her articles on employment law matters have appeared in several local and national publications, including the Los Angeles Daily Journal, the Los Angeles Business Journal, and Nation’s Restaurant News. She is a co-author of The EPL Book, A Practical Guide to Employment Practices, Liability, and Insurance (3rd Ed. 2001, Griffin Communications).
