Robert Mann is regarded as one of the most accomplished construction lawyers in California. In a case involving the construction of the Shutters Hotel in Santa Monica, Bob obtained a $90 million arbitration award, the largest construction defect arbitration award in California history, following the longest construction arbitration in the history of the American Arbitration Association. He has represented some of the largest developers in the United States in multi-million dollar construction disputes.
Bob is also a mediator of construction, real estate, business and employment cases. He has a 90% plus settlement rate. He is a member of the National Roster of Construction/Commercial Arbitratiors/Mediatiors of the American Arbitration Association.
Bob received his undergraduate degree from Stanford University, and his J.D., cum laude, from Santa Clara University School of Law, where he was an Editor of the Law Review. He has lectured extensively on construction issues, and has served as an expert witness on attorneys fees disputes in construction matters. He is the author of a major technical construction book entitled, Defect-Free Buildings, published in 2007 by McGraw-Hill.
Bob represents owners of homes, apartments, and commercial buildings, contractors, sub-contractors and design professionals in all types of construction matters. In addition, Bob litigates security broker misconduct, real estate, and business disputes.
