Jacob I. Kiani

Associate

Jacob I. Kiani is an Associate in the Employment and Labor Practice Group of Silver & Freedman. He defends employers in litigation involving allegations of wage and hour violations, wrongful termination, harassment, retaliation, and discrimination based on age, race, sex, national origin, and disability. Mr. Kiani also has experience in business litigation including claims of breach of contract, fraud, and unfair business practices. His responsibilities include all aspects of civil litigation from the initial pleading and discovery phases to the resolution of cases through mediation, arbitration, and trial in both state and federal courts.

Mr. Kiani received his B.A. in Political Science from Yale University in 2003 and his Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame in 2007. While at Yale, he served as a summer intern for the U.S. Department of State at the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, Egypt and studied abroad at the University of Cambridge in England. He served as the Executive Articles Editor for the Journal of Legislation during law school.

Prior to joining Silver & Freedman, Mr. Kiani was a litigation associate in the Los Angeles office of Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton, LLP. He is admitted to practice law in California and is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association.
