Gary A. Wexler

Gary Wexler is a partner at Silver & freedman and a member of the firm's Litigation Department. His practice encompasses a broad range of business, corporate and real estate matters, with emphasis on disputes between buyers and sellers of businesses and real property, and disputes between partners, shareholders, members and tenants-in-common of businesses and real property. Gary has handled a wide range of cases including claims for breach of purchase and sale agreements, breach of contracts including loans and guarantees, specific performance, fraud and deceit, interference with contract and/or prospective economic advantage, business dissolutions, real property foreclosures, partitions, quiet title and commercial leases disputes, unfair competition and trade secrets, construction defect and mechanics' lien actions and related claims for breach of fiduciary duty, misappropriation of business opportunities, constructive trusts and accounting.
Gary is experienced in mediations, arbitrations, writs and receivers, law and motion, trials and appeals. He has successfully prosecuted and defended applications for provisional remedies, including temporary restraining orders, preliminary injunctions, writs of attachment, appointment of receivers and expungement of notices of actions pending. He has brought to successful conclusions dispositive motions, including anti-SLAPP motions to dismiss, summary judgments and summary adjudications. He been rated "AV," the highest possible peer review rating for legal ability and ethical standards, under Martindale-Hubbell's Peer Review Process.
Gary is admitted to practice before all of the United States District Courts in the State of California, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. He is a member of the Business Law, Real Estate and Litigation Sections of the California State bar, the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the Litigation Section of the American Bar Association. He previously served on the Board of Editors of Corporate Counselor.
Gary received his J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law in 1973. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of California, Los Angeles, earning his B.A., summa cum laude, in 1969.
Prior to entering private practice, Gary served as a Deputy Attorney General for the State of California, litigating matters in public resources, land use control and environmental law.
Gary is a Los Angeles native and is happily married for 26 years with three (3) sons. In his spare time, Gary is proud to have coached twelve (12) seasons of youth basketball, four (4) seasons for each of his boys.
